This four-week Spanish immersion experience brings language learning into everyday life — onto the farm, into nature, through hands-on activities, local interactions, and the situations that make language meaningful.
Rather than separating Spanish from the rest of your experience, you’ll use the language as you explore, work, communicate, observe, ask questions, solve problems, and connect with the people and environment around you.
The goal isn’t simply to memorize more vocabulary.
It’s to develop the confidence and practical ability to use Spanish in real situations.
A Different Way to Learn Spanish
Traditional language learning often happens in one place: a classroom, with a textbook and a list of vocabulary.
This program takes a different approach.
Your Spanish learning is connected directly to the environment around you. Lessons are designed to move between theoretical and practical learning, allowing you to immediately apply what you’re learning through real activities and interactions.
The four-week curriculum takes place within the natural and agricultural environment surrounding the program, creating opportunities to practice Spanish as part of daily life.
From learning how to describe plants and animals to communicating during hands-on farm work, asking for information in the local community, and sharing your own experiences in Spanish, the language becomes something you actively use rather than simply study.
What You’ll Experience
Throughout the four weeks, you’ll learn through a combination of:
Spanish Language Development
Build practical vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, and conversational skills appropriate to your current level.
Farm & Hands-On Learning
Use Spanish while participating in practical activities involving the farm, garden, kitchen, tools, and daily tasks.
Nature & Observation
Explore the surrounding environment while learning vocabulary and language connected to plants, animals, ecosystems, sensations, and the natural world.
Cultural & Community Connection
Practice communicating beyond the program through interactions with local people and experiences in the surrounding community.
Conversation & Storytelling
Develop the ability to talk about yourself, your experiences, opinions, plans, and ideas with increasing confidence.
Practical Problem Solving
Use Spanish when giving and following instructions, asking for help, navigating situations, and working through real-world challenges.
Your Four-Week Journey
The program is organized into four progressive weeks, with learning activities adapted to different levels of Spanish.
Each week builds on the previous one — moving from foundational communication toward greater independence, interaction, and expression.
Week 1 — Foundations & Orientation
Getting comfortable with Spanish and your new environment.
The first week establishes the foundation for communication while helping you become familiar with the farm and your surroundings.
A1–A2 | Beginner
You’ll work with practical Spanish you’ll immediately need in your daily environment, including:
- Greetings and introductions
- Basic communication and camp routines
- Spatial orientation
- Basic safety
- Household vocabulary
- Common verbs such as estar, tener, querer, and ir
- Vocabulary related to tools and farm areas
You’ll also participate in a guided farm tour where you’ll identify different areas, tools, and rules while practicing communication in Spanish.
B1–B2 | Intermediate–Upper Intermediate
Students at a higher level begin moving beyond basic conversation into more detailed personal communication.
You’ll explore topics such as:
- Personal stories
- Travel motivations
- Previous experiences in nature
- Describing experiences in greater detail
- Using the preterite and imperfect
- Connecting ideas with more complex language
- Developing descriptive vocabulary
You’ll also participate in cross-interviews with local farm workers and collaborators, using Spanish to learn about and document their personal stories.
The focus: becoming comfortable communicating within your new environment.
Week 2 — Nature, Observation & Conservation
Learn Spanish by paying attention to the world around you.
The second week brings the natural environment into the center of your language practice.
You’ll develop the vocabulary and communication skills needed to observe, describe, discuss, and respond to what you encounter in nature.
A1–A2 | Beginner
You’ll practice:
- Describing plants and animals
- Physical characteristics
- Likes and dislikes
- Emotions
- Physical and thermal sensations
- Comparisons
- Nature-related vocabulary
- Using verbs such as gustar and encantar
During a guided observation walk, you’ll keep a field journal and identify and describe at least three species.
B1–B2 | Intermediate–Upper Intermediate
Students at this level explore more complex environmental topics, including:
- Environmental impact
- Tropical ecosystems
- Conservation
- Sustainable tourism
- Expressing opinions
- Expressing doubt
- Making arguments and discussing different perspectives
You’ll also participate in an evening roundtable focused on questions surrounding sustainable development and conservation.
The focus: using Spanish to observe, describe, discuss, and form ideas about the world around you.
Week 3 — Practical Spanish & Problem Solving
Put your Spanish to work.
By the third week, the language becomes increasingly connected to action.
You’ll use Spanish while participating in practical activities and situations where communication has an immediate purpose.
A1–A2 | Beginner
You’ll practice:
- Giving and following instructions
- Asking for help
- Basic recipes
- Communicating during manual work
- Sequencing actions
- Practical vocabulary
- Imperative forms
- Verbs such as cortar, sembrar, cargar, limpiar, and preparar
You’ll then put those skills into practice during a hands-on workshop in the vegetable garden or kitchen.
The goal is to complete the recipe or task entirely in Spanish.
B1–B2 | Intermediate–Upper Intermediate
Students at a higher level work with more complex situations involving:
- Rural project management
- Advanced orientation
- Survival-related situations
- Unexpected circumstances
- Recommendations
- Indirect commands
- Probability and hypothetical situations
You’ll take part in a field logistics simulation where you’ll either plan an expedition or work together to solve a technical problem related to the farm.
The focus: communicating clearly when something needs to get done.
Week 4 — Community, Culture & Expression
Take your Spanish beyond the farm.
The final week focuses on applying everything you’ve developed through greater independence, cultural interaction, and personal expression.
A1–A2 | Beginner
You’ll practice:
- Talking about future plans
- Everyday transactions
- Interacting within the local community
- Asking questions
- Requesting information
- Using future expressions
- Reviewing the language you’ve developed throughout the program
You’ll participate in a local community outing that includes an urban interaction rally, giving you opportunities to use Spanish in real-world situations such as shopping and asking local residents for information.
B1–B2 | Intermediate–Upper Intermediate
Students at a higher level focus on fluent expression and cultural nuance.
You’ll work with:
- Regional expressions and idioms
- Advanced storytelling
- Complex sentence structures
- Advanced subjunctive use
- Cultural nuances in communication
To bring the experience together, you’ll prepare and deliver a final oral presentation or personal story based on a project, experience, or something meaningful you’ve learned during the program.
The focus: expressing yourself with greater independence and confidence.
Two Levels. One Immersive Experience.
The program is designed to accommodate different levels of Spanish.
A1–A2
Beginner / Elementary
For students who are developing their foundations and need practical Spanish for everyday communication.
You’ll focus on understanding and using essential vocabulary, basic grammar, instructions, descriptions, questions, and everyday conversation.
B1–B2
Intermediate / Upper Intermediate
For students who already have a foundation in Spanish and want to become more comfortable expressing themselves in greater depth.
You’ll work with more complex grammar, conversation, storytelling, opinions, problem solving, cultural language, and spontaneous communication.
The activities share the same immersive environment, while the language objectives and level of complexity are adapted to each group.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
The most important part of immersion is what happens when the lesson ends.
Throughout the program, Spanish is connected to experiences that give the language a purpose.
You may find yourself using Spanish while:
- Walking through the farm
- Learning about plants and animals
- Working in the garden
